<br /> ~r <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 8. COUNCILOR ACTIVITIES AND UPCOMING EVENTS <br /> <br /> a. Councilor De Forest said that she attended and enjoyed the Beloit/Janesville Chamber Orchestra. She <br /> attended the resident meeting at Parker Bluff discussing the Public Housing Rehab, and she said that the <br /> Public Housing Authority Director Cathy Pollard did an excellent presentation to the residents. She <br /> attended the School Board Candidates' Forum and reminded citizens that another Candidates' Forum <br /> would be held on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. She reminded the public that the Section 8 would be reopened on <br /> April 4, and she urged all those qualified to apply. <br /> b. Councilor Densch also announced that the League of Women's Voters Candidates' Forum would be held in <br /> the City Hall Forum on March 22 and encouraged all to attend. <br /> c. Councilor Haynes said that he attended the Rise and Shine at Rotary Riverfront which is a precursor to <br /> their Bloom Event in April. <br /> d. Councilor Johns congratulated the Beloit Memorial High School basketball team for an outstanding season, <br /> said that several great teams participated in Destination Imagination, congratulated the cast and crew of <br /> Beloit Memorial High School production of "Hairspray", attended the Rise and Shine breakfast and was <br /> looking forward to the great season. She said that she attended the open session with parks and leisure <br /> services and said it was great to hear feedback from area residents. She also attended the Vets Roll <br /> Casino night. <br /> e. Councilor Van De Bogart said he attended the Community Development Authority (CDA) meeting with <br /> residents and was impressed with the various options to the CDA and residents. He also was impressed <br /> by the "Hairspray" musical at the High School. <br /> 9. CITY MANAGER'S PRESENTATION - none <br /> 10. REPORTS FROM BOARDS AND CITY OFFICERS <br /> a. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to apply for Grant Funding under the 2011 Wisconsin Office of <br /> Justice Assistance WI Trac System Program. Fire Chief Brad Liggett explained that the grant would <br /> enhance the capability to track patients that were critically injured in a mass casualty situation and would <br /> improve communications with hospitals, and allow track patient transportation for billing purposes. He <br /> noted that this was a pilot program for the State and if the technology proved to be effective it would be a <br /> program statewide. He also noted that there were no costs to the City of Beloit for purchasing the mobile <br /> computer and bar code scanner. Councilor Johns said that she could see the value of a bar code to track <br /> victims and Councilor De Forest thanked Chief Liggett for aggressively seeking the grant and said that she <br /> supported it. Councilor Johns moved to adopt, second by Councilor Densch. The motion carried. <br /> File 8491 <br /> 11. At T20 p.m., Councilor Johns moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Councilor Densch.
